Great for those lenses that pull forward and back on focus pulls.
This gear is great. I actually wish it was the default gear. I leave it on as the default, instead of the skinny one it came with. It's not that wide (note: there is a double wide as well). I haven't had any problems with space...I can't see it getting in the way of other gears in too many situations, so this is my normal gear now. I should've bought one when I first bought my Heden M26...using that skinny gear on a rehoused LOMO almost stripped it out. Fortunately, the gears are fairly sturdy...but it's not a good feeling hearing those teeth when they slip.
